Green Ocean helps the Three Gorges Million-kilowatt-scale Offshore Wind Power Project to Full Capacity Grid Connection
2021-12-30

On the morning of December 25th, the Three Gorges Yangjiang Shapa Offshore Wind Power Project, which is participated in by Green Holdings subsidiary Green Ocean, realized full-capacity grid-connected power generation providing strong support for the transformation of the energy structure in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the realization of the goal of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality".

Three Gorges Yangjiang Shapa Offshore Wind Farm

The Three Gorges Yangjiang Shapa Offshore Wind Power Project is located in the south of Shapa Town, Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province. The project is divided into five phases, with 269 offshore wind turbines and a total installed capacity of 1.7 million kilowatts. It is the largest offshore wind power project of one million kilowatts in China. It is estimated that after the Three Gorges Yangjiang Shapa Offshore Wind Power Project is completed, it will be able to provide 4.7 billion kWh of on-grid electricity per year, which can meet the annual electricity consumption of about 2 million households and effectively reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 4 million tons per year.

Runneng 118

Green Ocean holds the offshore cable laying ship "Runneng 118" to participate in the 35kv submarine cable laying task of Phase 5 of the Three Gorges Yangjiang Shapa Project. The ship is the first multi-functional cable laying ship invested and built by Green Holdings, which can meet the laying requirements of 35KV submarine cables of various specifications.

Due to the adverse sea conditions and weather at sea, offshore construction is particularly difficult. The "Runneng 118" submarine cable laying project team overcame difficulties such as harsh sea conditions, short operation window, and heavy pulling workload through continuous summarization and progress, and completed the pulling operation time of a single submarine cable from 20 hours to 8 hours! Among them, the submarine cable in the W36-W30 section is 2040 meters long, and the total time for pulling and laying is 39 hours, which has refreshed the time record for laying submarine cables of the same length by this ship.

Green 001

In this project, "Green 001", a large-scale offshore wind power crane and pipe-laying vessel held by Green Ocean, also actively cooperated and fully assisted in the transfer, positioning and hoisting of the platform.

Jiangsu Green Ocean Engineering Co., Ltd. is a company specializing in marine engineering construction management and marine engineering services. Through its core offshore engineering equipment, it provides terminal solutions for deep-sea wind turbine installation; relying on "core equipment" to create differentiated offshore advantages .

The road to marine engineering is long and difficult. Green Ocean will stick to the belief of "conquering the azure as its own responsibility, and continue to promote the development of clean energy at sea", adhere to the spirit of craftsman"dare to be the first in the world", and carry forward the spirit of "be refined, practical, bigger and stronger", contributes a steady stream of strength to the grand goal of "3060" carbon peak and carbon neutrality!
